This dataset consists of the experimental data collected for the synthesis and optimisation of starch-based bioplastic films. A screening factorial design was initially employed to evaluate the significance of key formulation variables, followed by response surface methodology (RSM) to optimise the effects of the selected factors on the mechanical and physical properties of the films. The investigated responses included tensile strength, elongation at break, and water absorption. The dataset includes the experimental design matrices and corresponding response results obtained from mechanical testing. As the study did not involve human participants, animals, or sensitive data, ethical clearance and data collection permission were not required.
