Cosimo De Giorgi combined his various interests in scientific investigation with a sincere interest in teaching, which he practised mainly at a technical college in Lecce. His teaching method involved a direct confrontation with reality, to test the concepts learned in class. He organised carefully prepared and adequately documented field trips. He took his commitment as a teacher, which he carried out for many years, very seriously. He was the author of a number of school manuals, in which he proved to be a careful disseminator of the disciplines he taught.
