Gene database of Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2)

Streptomyces coelicolor is a filamentous microorganism with a single linear chromosome with distinct telomeres. Capable of asymmetric cell division and development of hyphae, the microorganism is an interesting model organism for understanding cellular differentiation in microbial life. Using an in-house MATLAB software for parsing the annotated genome sequence of S. coelicolor A3(2), this work builds a gene database of the organism. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence of all genes in the genome of the microorganism, the resource should be useful for diving deeper into the mystery of cellular differentiation in this multi-facet microorganism.天蓝色链霉菌（Streptomyces coelicolor）是一类丝状微生物，其基因组为单一线性染色体且端粒结构独特。该微生物可进行不对称细胞分裂并完成菌丝发育，是解析微生物生命活动中细胞分化机制的极具科研价值的模式生物。本研究采用自研MATLAB软件解析天蓝色链霉菌A3(2)的注释基因组序列，构建了该物种的基因数据库。该数据库涵盖该微生物全基因组内所有基因的名称、功能与序列，可为深入探究这类兼具多重生物学特性的微生物的细胞分化奥秘提供重要支撑。
