This dataset comprises annual railway network data for China spanning the years 2014 to 2021. It is sourced from OpenStreetMap (OSM), a crowdsourced mapping platform where geographic data is contributed by users via portable GPS devices, aerial photographs and other methods. OSM provides free access to comprehensive geographic data and maps, including elements such as roads, waterways, protected areas, buildings, water systems, railways and various other features. This particular dataset extracts and curates the railway network component from the full OSM dataset.
