Share of IT security spending required for data protection activities 2005-2015

The statistic shows the average share of enterprise IT security spending that is put towards data protection activities, from 2005 to 2015, according to various surveys conducted by the Ponemon Institute. As of February 2016, according to respondents, enterprises dedicated an average of about 30 percent of their IT security spending to data protection activities. This level of spending on data protection activities is down slightly from its peak of 34.5 percent in 2010.
