CONTRASTIVE DISCURSIVE ANALYSIS OF GENDER EXPRESSION ON UZBEK AND ENGLISH WEB PAGES

This article investigates gender expression in online news media through a contrastive discursive lens, analyzing Uzbek and English web pages. Using Kun.uz and BBC News as primary sources, the study explores linguistic and discursive strategies that construct gender roles and identities. The research examines lexical choices, syntactic patterns, and framing techniques, highlighting similarities and differences in gender representation across cultural and linguistic contexts. The study provides insights into cross-cultural media discourse and the role of language in shaping social perceptions of gender.
