Drosophila melanogaster NP3253 is a Gal4 enhancer trap strain. When Gal4-positive neurons in this line are artificially inactivated with Kir2.1 (NP3253>Kir2.1), the fly becomes sensitive to starvation. In previous study, RNA-seq of fly gut was performed, when the neurons were inactivated (NP3253>Kir2.1) or normally active (NP3253>GFP) under feeding or starvation condition. To confirm the effects of neural inactivation, another RNA-seq of fly gut was performed in this study, when the neuronal inactivation was rescued by Elav-Gal80 (NP3253>Kir2.1 Elav-Gal80) in feeding or starvation condition.
