To gain insights into the roles of NRSYM1 and NRSYM2 in the nitrate-responsive gene expression in Lotus japonicus, we conducted RNA-seq of the roots of wild-type (MG-20), the nrsym1-1 mutants, the nrsym2 mutants, and the nrsym1-1 nrsym2 double mutants grown with or without nitrate during root nodule symbiosis. We performed RNA-seq analysis of the roots of wild-type and the Ljnin-9 mutants grown with or without rhizobia to identify LjNIN-dependent rhizobia-inducible genes.
