**Overview** Our climate impacts every aspect of our lives, from food and clean water availability to infrastructure and health. Businesses find value in understanding the climate because it affects supply chain and logistics, agriculture, consumer behavior, energy use, tourism, transportation, and others. Knowing what has happened and how it compares to our current observations can help businesses prepare for future conditions. With AccuWeather’s Climate Normals, businesses will be able to know when, where, and how much abnormal/extreme weather occurred. Even further, combined with our forecasted data, know what areas will be affected the most providing them the opportunity to adapt and mitigate those impacts in advance. **Scenario** AccuWeather’s Climate Normals are a collection of weather parameters that provide an additional understanding of a location’s common climate conditions based on a period of time. The initial set of normals are calculated from a 10-year period and 20-year period. 30-year period will be available in future version releases. They consist of daily, day-night, and hourly statistics of 160+ parameters and are available for nearly 90,000 locations around the globe. This Databricks Notebook will provide an example of an exploratory analysis of climate information along with a goal of identifying patterns and spatial differences for selected postal codes in the United States. The locations we're most interested in are as follows: - Atlanta, Georgia - Brownsville, Texas - Chicago, Illinois - Dallas, Texas - El Paso, Texas - Houston, Texas - Los Angeles, California - Nashville, Tennessee - New York, New York - Riverside, California - San Francisco, California **Dataset details** - Hourly Historical Normals (AccuWeather) For more details, refer to the embedded notebook.
