Housing Affordability in Downtown Vancouver

<p>Located on a narrow peninsula, Downtown Vancouver is arguably one of, if not the most desirable Canadian urban cores to live in due to its beautiful waterfront location, and the multitude of different opportunities for all who choose to settle here. Although the area has been Canada&apos;s commercial and business hub for over 125 years (Chuck, 2026, p.1), Downtown Vancouver is still growing, both in population density and economic demand. Because of this continuous growth, the downtown core must expand, but the problem lies within its space, as significant physical constraints limit outward expansion. Combined with improper government decisions and policies, these issues create intense pressure on the downtown housing market, turning a simple expansion project into a convoluted mess of significant scale.</p>
