Science Collaborative for Health Disparities and Artificial intelligence Reduction of Errors Repository

Science Collaborative for Health Disparities and Artificial Intelligence Reduction of Errors (SCHARE) Repository, managed by the NIH, National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), is a cloud-based population science data platform meant to provide centralized resources (datasets, tools, workspaces) to support research into health disparities, health care delivery, and health outcomes, using transparent, fit-for-purpose AI and ML methods. The repository holds population science data, place-based data, behavioral data, as well as cloud-computing tools to support paradigm-shifting work in health disparities and whole-person health. It is designed to use core common data elements to encourage interoperability and data aggregation as well as reduce AI bias to improve the accuracy and reliability of AI tools to minimize errors. All registered users have access to data within the repository at varying privacy and security levels based on controlled access. SCHARE has also developed initiatives like “Think-a-Thons”, webinars to help people learn AI / cloud computing terminology, develop research ideas, and form collaborations.
