Microbes are ubiquitous in nature and recent culture independent studies highlight their significance to human health and disease. Fecal DNA is the primary source for majority of studies and an effective method to obtain good quality metagenomic DNA has scope for further improvement. In the current study, we demonstrate a quick, robust, unbiased and cost-effective method for the isolation of high molecular weight The 16S analysis confirmed that the fecal metagenomic DNA isolated with current methodology has maintained species richness and does not show microbial diversity biases.
