Sequencing of MHC conserved extended haplotypes. Homo sapiens

Distinct long-range genetic fixation in the MHC region, known as conserved extended haplotypes (CEHs), has been described in numerous studies due to its unique genomic characteristic and strong association with many complex traits. However, despite the great interests, technology limitations and the heterogeneous nature of MHC haplotypes have made the study of private variations in CEHs a major challenge. In this study, with the use of multiple MHC homozygous cell lines carrying unique MHC CEHs of Asian ancestry, we characterized the level intra-CEH variations and examined the possible effect of these variants.
