The data set refers to bird surveys across 26 sites within greenspaces in Campinas city, State of São Paulo, southeastern Brazil. Sites were located in intra- (urban core) and extra-urban (adjacent non-urban) regions of the city. Our aim was to evaluated shifts in bird communities along a spatial greenspace gradient, and the association between species richness and distance to the urban border and woody vegetation cover.
