资源简介:

During the Ordovician period, 460 million years ago, a shallow inland sea once formed in what is now Eastern Europe, in which a series of ctenoid trilobites with elongated eye stalks evolved. We believe these trilobites bury themselves in sand or sediments at the bottom of the sea and look out for prey or predator with their periscope-like eyes. It lies in wait for an opportunity to strike unsuspecting prey. Muddy waters increase the evolutionary pressure for evolving longer eyestalks. This special series of trilobites existed only in the mid-Ordovician period and became completely extinct in the late Ordovician period. This project is a collaboration between 'Buddhist Wong Fung Ling College' and 'dot 3D FACTORY' in Hong Kong. We hope to make fragile fossils available to every student with 3D replication technology. The fossil exhibits are owned by Mr Leung, a former student of BWFLC.
