Investigationg microbiome specifically associated with prostate cancer compared to non-cancerous prostate controls. Overall design: 50 prostate cancer tissues were screened individually, and 15 non-cancerous prostate control tissues were screened in pools of 5 by PathoChip, a metagenomic array comprising probes for all known micro-organisms in NCBI database. Both genomic DNA (gDNA) and total RNA (cDNA) from prostate cancer and control tissues were co-amplified, labelled with Cy3 and hybridized on the PathoChip.
