Overview of the contents of the dataset

Types of tests

This dataset contains results of:

Material tests on OSB/3 sheathing panels (SN EN 789:2005);

Tensile tests;

Shear tests;

Bending tests;

Shear tests on wall elements without window openings (ISO 21581:2010);

Shear tests on wall elements with window openings;

Test Series 1: One-storey with one window opening - First Iteration (ISO 21581:2010);

Test Series 2a: One-storey with one window opening - Second Iteration (ISO 21581:2010);

Test Series 2b: One-storey with one window opening - Cyclic (EN 12512:2001);

Test Series 3: Two-storey (ISO 21581:2010);

Test Series 4: Long, one-storey with two window opening (ISO 21581:2010).

Types of results

The results in the dataset comprise:

Density, moisture content and MOE of the framing members;

Force and displacement measurements.

The results of each Test Series are stored in separate folders, each containing a "XX_DefinitionSensorsAndSignConvention.xlsx" with specific information about the measurement setup.

Materials

The experiments on the timber frame shear walls included in the dataset were performed using:

Framing members: Swiss-grown Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) H. Karst) glulam GL24h (EN 14080:2013);

Sheathing panels: OSB/3 (EN 300:2006)

Sheathing-to-framing connection:

Resined staples (Haubold, KG 750) with a length of 50 mm, a nominal diameter of 1.53 mm, and a tensile strength of fu >= 800 N/mm2 (EN 14592:2008+A1:2012);

Partially-threaded nails, called seismic nails (Seismic 3,1/90 Ring-blank A2) with a length of 90 mm, a nominal diameter of 3.10 mm, and a tensile strength of fu >= 600 N/mm2 (EN 14592:2008+A1:2012).
