Blind ultrasound sweeps using portable ultrasound performed by non-specialists without prior ultrasound experience to diagnose high-risk pregnancy complications

This data is from a single-center, prospective cohort study conducted from 10/2020 – 1/2022. Ultrasound operators with no prior ultrasound experience underwent a brief training program on a simple, standardized 8-step approach to performing a limited obstetric ultrasound exam which utilizes blind sweeps of the ultrasound probe based on external body landmarks.The sweeps were performed with a portable, battery-powered Butterfly iQ ultrasound probe and later interpreted by five blinded maternal-fetal medicine specialists. The reference standard for comparison was a standard of care diagnostic obstetric ultrasound performed on the same day as the blinded ultrasound sweeps by an expert sonographer using a high-end ultrasound machine and interpreted by a blinded specialist. This dataset contains information from blinded ultrasound sweeps as well as reference diagnostic ultrasounds.
