ENSURING VEHICLE SAFETY DURING DRIVING IN FOGGY CONDITIONS
收藏资源简介:
Fog is one of the most dangerous meteorological factors affecting road transport because it sharply reduces the driver’s visual field, distorts distance perception, and increases the probability of rear-end and multi-vehicle crashes. This article examines vehicle safety in foggy conditions from the viewpoint of the driver, the vehicle, and the road infrastructure. The study systematizes the main hazards caused by fog, explains the connection between visibility, speed selection and stopping distance, and proposes practical safety measures for passenger cars, buses and freight vehicles. The article also emphasizes the importance of low-beam lighting, working rear lamps, reflective surfaces, clean windshields, safe headway, variable speed control, and road-side warning systems. The proposed measures can be used in road safety education, vehicle maintenance planning and local traffic safety management.
