Analytical tables for a scoping review on the social impact of scientific institutions

This dataset contains the analytical tables supporting the scoping review presented in the article “Assessing the social impact of scientific institutions: a scoping review of concepts, indicators, and legitimation mechanisms”. The dataset includes three tables synthesising the evidence extracted from the studies selected for the review (2019–2025). Table 1 provides the main descriptive characteristics of the included studies. Table 2 systematises the objectives, methodologies, and key findings of each study. Table 3 analyses the channels through which social impact is articulated, together with the main limitations and implications identified in the literature. The tables were developed through a systematic and transparent analytical process, following PRISMA-SCR guidelines, and are intended to enhance the reproducibility, transparency, and reusability of the review. They may be of interest to researchers, evaluators, and policy-makers working on research evaluation, social impact assessment, and science policy.
