Island inventory of peak elevation and area for SFTH retrieval over the Yellow and Bohai Seas

This dataset provides island coordinates, areas, and peak elevations used as height references for sea fog top height retrieval. Islands in the Yellow and Bohai Seas offer natural geometric constraints: when fog-top height exceeds island peak elevation, the peak tends to be submerged in imagery; when fog-top height is lower, the peak remains visible and terrain–fog interactions may produce local holes/contrasts.Screening criteria (MODIS 250 m): area > 0.25 km² (≥4 pixels) and peak elevation > 30 m (consistent with CALIPSO nominal vertical accuracy).File: islands information used in SFTH retrieval.csv (UTF-8; lon/lat in decimal degrees).Fields: No., Island Name, Longitude, Latitude, Elevation(m), Area(km2).Source: compiled from Mapcarta (please record access date in the associated paper/metadata).
