资源简介:
The history of the Copertino Municipal Wind-Band in the second half of the Nineteenth century is intertwined with the administrative, cultural, and symbolic reorganization processes that characterized post-unification Italy. Through analysis of municipal administration records, preserved at the State Archives in Lecce, this research reconstructs two fundamental moments in the history of the Copertino band: the story of the approval of the official uniform design (1878),emblematic of the tensions between local autonomy and the rules imposed by the new Kingdom, and the band's gradual transition from a private group to a municipal institution. In the 1880s, in fact, the band went through repeated crises due to economic difficulties, the resignation of band leaders, and the indebtedness of musicians, until the municipal resolution of May 4, 1884, which made it officially municipal. From then on, the municipal administration assumed the responsibility of financing instruments, uniforms, and salaries, regulating the internal life of the company with increasingly stringent rules. This process culminated in the approval, on June 21, 1890, of a detailed disciplinary regulation, which defined the obligations, sanctions, civic commitments, and training tasks of the bandmaster. The study highlights how the Copertino band, from a simple musical association, transformed itself into a public institution, reflecting local political dynamics and serving as a means of representing the community's identity in a united Italy.
