High bycatch risk of threatened marine species in China's seas and adjacent waters

This dataset consists of three procedural documents that support the assessment of bycatch risks for threatened marine species in China’s seas and adjacent waters. All documents are in raster format and can be opened and viewed using ArcGIS software. The "Threatened species" file shows spatially species richness across different taxa by overlaying the distribution ranges of individual species. The "Fishing effort" file compiles total fishing hours, categorized by gear type, in China’s seas and adjacent waters over the period from 2016 to 2024. The "Bycatch risks" file contains cumulative bycatch risk (CBR) scores for threatened species grouped by taxonomic categories in each specific site.
