Microbial community structure is constantly shaped by environmental factors.Hypersaline environments are cohabited by Archaea and Bacteria while their community structure is governed by salinity. In this study, we examined the microbial fluctuations along a salinity gradient and between two different salt producing seasons (initial salt harvesting (ISH) phase and peak salt harvesting (PSH) phase) through high-throughput sequencing at a artisanal solar saltern.
