A Spatially distributed daily measurements of total nitrogen, water level and temperature in a freshwater wetland in Quebec, Canada
收藏资源简介:
Wetlands provide important environmental services, including retaining nitrogen influxes to downstream waterbodies. Having said that, the dynamics of nitrogen retention, release, and transport within wetlands are poorly understood, and little is known about how a specific wetland, as a whole or in its segments, switch between being a nitrogen sink and source over time. We present a spatially distributed dataset of daily Total Nitrogen (TN) concentrations, along with ancillary water levels, and water temperatures data in the Cherry River Marsh in southern Quebec, Canada, during summer seasons of 2022-2024. This terminal wetland plays a key role in removing nutrient from a northern inflow to the Lake Memphremagog, a transboundary lake between Canada and the United States, supplying drinking water to 175,000+ Canadians. The collected dataset of 4,020 daily TN measurements provides a unique opportunity to understand nitrogen dynamics in wetlands across time and space and can support ecological monitoring, impact assessments, attribution studies, and model development.
