Maize x1132x-derived lines (abbreviated as x lines) have constituted an novel important heterotic group in China and widely used to breed elite hybrid corns, such as Jingke968, Jingnongke728 and Denghai605. D9H and Jing724 are two x lines and show significant differences in salt stress tolerance. Salt stress sensitive performance of D9H is caused by a single recessive gene. To map and clone this salt stress tolerance-related gene, F2 population was created by selfing of F1 plants produced by crossing Jing724 to D9H. RNA was isolated from pooled F2 salt sensitive plants and F2 salt tolerance plants and used to performed BSR-seq analysis.
