A novel sulfate-reducing bacterium, Desulforhopalus glucosivorans strain 52FAK, was isolated from the sediment of a brackish lake (Lake Akkeshi, Hokkaido, Japan). This strain is distinct compared to related isolates in its ability to grow on glucose. Here we provide the complete genome sequence of strain 52FAK based on short- and long-read DNA sequencing data.
