METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A COMPONENT OF A ROOF WINDOW FRAME OR SASH

A method of manufacturing a component of a roof window frame or sash (3) is provided. The method comprises the steps of: providing a thermoplastic (100) with a melting temperature in the range of 100 - 300°C; providing a mould comprising a cavity (104)， the volume of the cavity (104) being adjustable; introducing the liquid thermoplastic (100) into the mould cavity via an inlet (102); increasing the volume of the mould cavity by moving at least one of the boundary members and providing relative motion between the inlet (102) and the mould cavity (104) whilst introducing further liquid thermoplastic (100) such that the liquid thermoplastic (100) conforms to the expanded volume of the cavity; wherein the thermoplastic (100) contains filler in an amount of 10 - 70 % by weight.
