Rhizosphere 16S and ITS amplicon sequencing under precipitation manipulation, California grassland

Rhizosphere samples were collected from a multi-year precipitation manipulation experiment at the Hopland Research and Extension Center, California. Samples include fractionated (density gradient, qSIP) and unfractionated rhizosphere DNA from plots receiving reduced (50% of historical average) or average precipitation, collected at two timepoints during the 2020 growing season (March12 and April 13). 16S rRNA (V4 region, 515F/806R) and ITS amplicons were sequenced to characterize bacterial and fungal communities involved in rhizodeposit carbon cycling.
