Indonesian Age-Friendly Cities and Communities Questionnaire (AFCCQ) Validation Dataset: 508 Community-Dwelling Older Adults Across Five Urban Categories

This dataset contains de-identified questionnaire responses from 508 community-dwelling older adults across five urban categories in Indonesia (small, medium-sized, large, metropolitan, and megapolitan), collected between 7 January and 3 February 2025 using the Indonesian- language adaptation of the Age-Friendly Cities and Communities Questionnaire (AFCCQ; Dikken et al., 2020). The deposit comprises five files:- afccq_open_dataset.csv : Main analytic file (508 rows x 42 variables)- afccq_open_dataset.xlsx : Same data in Excel format- afccq_codebook.csv : Variable-level data dictionary- README.md : Documentation- reproduce_analyses.py : Replication script that reproduces the descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha, and Kruskal-Wallis tests reported in the companion manuscript.Population. Eligible participants were older adults aged 60 years and above residing in one of the five Indonesian urban categories defined by Government Regulation No. 26/2008. Recruitment combined offline collection at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National Referral Hospital and Paris Community Health Center (Jakarta) with online collection through the 2025 National Senior Expo.Instrument. The AFCCQ contains 23 items grouped into nine domains (housing; social participation; respect and social inclusion; civic participation and employment; communication and information; community support and health services; outdoor spaces and buildings; transportation; financial situation). Each item is rated on a 5-point Likert scale from -2 (strongly disagree) to +2 (strongly agree). Domain subscores are the sums of their items; the total score ranges from -46 to +46.De-identification. The dataset contains no direct identifiers (names, contact information, addresses, dates of birth, or specific city names). Additional disclosure controls applied: ages >=90 years top-coded to 90 (flag variable age_topcoded_90plus); geography aggregated to a five-level urban category; no free-text responses.Suggested uses. Replication of published analyses; secondary analyses of perceived age-friendliness in urban Indonesia; cross-culturalcomparison with other AFCCQ validations (Dutch, British, Turkish, Romanian, Polish); methodological work on short-form age-friendly city assessment.Ethics. Ethical approval was granted by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia - Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National Referral Hospital on 6 January 2025 (Ref: 24-10-1617). Written informed consent was obtained from every participant; consent covered de-identified data sharing for research purposes.Companion manuscript.
