This series comprise the Brand registers of the Tamworth Rural Lands Protection Board. Each volume is arranged chronologically according to date of application.Part of the responsibility of each Rural Lands Protection Board under the Pastures Protection Act of 1902 (No.111, 1902) and subsequent legislation, was to keep records of livestock identification. These brand registers list stockholders with their name and address along with their brand symbol, earmarks, date of application and cost.Custody History These files were in the custody of the Tamworth Rural Lands Protection Board until 10 February 1995 when they were transferred to the Regional Archives.Physical Characteristics The material comprises two separate bound volumes.
