FVC2000

The FVC2000 (Fingerprint Verification Competition 2000) dataset is a standard in biometric and fingerprint verification. It has four databases (DB1–DB4), with 800 fingerprint images in total collected from 100 different people (8 impressions per finger). The databases were made using different sensors and image qualities to simulate variations in quality both in terms of the image capture sensors (optical and capacitive) and image generation (synthetic). The dataset gives an excellent basis to evaluate the performance of fingerprint recognition algorithms in different conditions. The datasets' consistency and ground truth labelling for the capturing sensors make it an excellent resource for reproducible research and algorithm comparisons in biometric verification.
