Generally, herbal medicines are prepared by making a decoction of herbal plants. RNA fraction of a herbal decoction has been little investigated. The goals of this project is to identify RNA sequences included in a decoction of Glycyrrhizae Radix, one of the most common herbal medicines. We also aim to clarify the mechanism by which these RNAs can be protected from heat and nucleases by analyzing sequenses in detail.
