Artificial Light at Night effect on the microbiota of oysters' gills

The objective of this project is to evaluate the impact of Artificial Light at Night (ALAN), a contaminant of emerging concern, on the gills' microbiota of the oyster Crassostrea gigas. This oyster is a keystone species of coastal environments, which are highly affected by ALAN but whose effect of ALAN on them is hardly studied. Here, this project investigates ALAN's effects on the taxonomic composition and diversity of the microbiota of oysters' gills, a tissue specifically involved in the feeding and respiration of this organism.
