The genetic stability of Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) MP-12 strain during the replication in culture cells was studied. The rMP12-DNSs16/198 strain, which encodes a 69% in-frame truncation of NSs gene, was passaged in Vero cells 25 times, and the reversion mutations into parental ZH548 strain sequence were evaluated using the deep sequencing of PCR amplicons by MiSeq sequencer.
