The enzyme activity was measured with 50 µM of the substrate, chitobioside, 4-MU-(GlcNAc)2 in 50 mM sodium-phosphate buffer, pH 7.0 containing purified Bt-Chitinase or Ha-Chitinase and purified Bt-CBP21. Reaction was carried out at 30°C for 20 min. Km and Vmax were calculated. Bt-CBP21 did not display any chitinolytic activity.
