资源简介:
Caribbean Latino adults are at high risk for developing osteoporosis, due to dietary patterns, inflammation, and microbial dysbiosis. The objective of the current study was to examine changes in bone turnover markers, the gut microbiota, and systemic inflammation following 8wks of daily yogurt supplementation among adults > 55 years. After a 4-week baseline period, participants were randomized to an 8-week yogurt intervention (5oz daily containing Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus | Y, n = 17) or a non-yogurt control group (C, n = 16).
