Lichen assemblages across fragmented drylands of southern Peru: data, R code and reproducible outputs

Research compendium supporting the manuscript “Highly complementary lichen assemblages and turnover-dominated beta diversity across fragmented drylands of southern Peru”. The archive contains immutable raw data, contextual and derived data, complete R scripts, configuration files, quality-control records, publication-ready figures and tables, editable Word tables, serialized R objects, and complete R session information. The archived v8.2.2 execution passed all 13 final validation checks. The study encompasses eight surveyed dryland sectors in southern Peru, including coastal fog oases and high-Andean shrublands. The documented sampling framework comprises 40 stations and 200 sampling units, with 35 occupied stations and 175 occupied sampling units included in composition-based analyses. The regional checklist contains 53 lichen morphotaxa. Important limitations are transparently documented: original unit-level records from the zero-detection Amoquinto sector were not recovered; 58 identical rows in the raw source file were retained and flagged; one evidence-based digitization correction was registered; and Figure 1A requires external GIS layers and photographs that are not included in this analytical archive.
