资源简介:
Commercially available carbon black is used as the basis for designing novel dispersants. The potential advantage of our carbon black particle based Pickering emulsion is the ability to not only stabilize droplets but also to adsorb the more water-soluble and toxic fractions of petroleum. This dataset contains data for the characterization of commercially available and surface-modified carbon black, as part of an effort to determine the optimum characteristics for the dispersant. Modification methods include the use of diazonium chemistry to attach benzoic acid functional groups using para-amino benzoic acid (PABA). Characterization methods include thermogravimetic analysis (TGA), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and pKa determination by acid-base titration.
