Nanopore and Illumina sequencing data for 20-plex PCR assays using non-standard nucleotides (SAMRS and AEGIS bases) in the primers to target 18 enteropathogen and two antimicrobial resistance genes. Samples from three matrices (wastewater, soil, and feces), along with synthetic targets, were assayed using both standard DNA and SAMRS-AEGIS primers.
