Mendelian Randomization of Trace Elements and Cardiometabolic Disease: Instrument Strength, Power, and Sensitivity Analyses

This repository contains the R analysis code for a Mendelian randomization systematic review investigating the relationships between essential trace elements, including iron, selenium, zinc, copper, and magnesium, and cardiometabolic outcomes. The code calculates study-specific instrument strength (R²), minimum detectable effects at 80% power, performs study-specific power appraisals, sensitivity analyses, correlated-effects synthesis, small-study effect assessment, and generates the accompanying figures. Analyses use published summary-level GWAS data and require no individual-level data.
