资源简介:
Rothia mucilaginosa is one of the major species of the genus Rothia that are commonly identified in human oral cavity and the up-respiratory tract. It has been associated with various acute and chronic diseases from dental caries, endodontitis, candidiasis, and pneumonia. Limited studies suggest that R. mucilainosa is a promiscuous co-aggregator and important initiator of cell-cell interactions in the early oral biofilms, although its exact role in oral health and disease remains unclear. Several R. mucilaginosa genomes have been sequenced (www.homd.org), but the lack of genetic transformability remains the major obstacle in the study of Rothia pathophysiology. R. mucilaginosa D1. R. mucialginosa D1 was isolated from a patient at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry Periodontics clinic. Unlike many other R. mucilaginosa strains, D1 is genetically amendable.
