亚洲不同区域的气候变化受中纬度西风与低纬度季风不同气候系统系统影响,呈现出显著的时空差异。广泛分布于亚洲各地的黄土-古土壤沉积序列,为揭示过去不同时间尺度粉尘堆积历史及西风–季风气候系统演变规律提供了重要的沉积记录。释光测年是当前黄土年代测定中应用最广泛的方法,而古气候代用指标则是重建黄土气候变化历史的关键基础。本数据集为2023年发布的“亚洲黄土释光测年与古气候代用指标数据集”的2.0升级版本。更新后的数据集整合了横跨伊朗西北至中国东北地区148条黄土-古土壤剖面的1902个石英释光年龄、1378个钾长石年龄及其相关计算参数,同时还包括107条剖面的高分辨率年龄-深度模型数据。古气候代用指标部分汇总了共计12521个粒度数据、17856个环境磁学参数数据、2225个碳酸盐含量数据和3326个色度数据。该数据集是目前已发布的涵盖亚洲黄土地区最为详尽的释光定年与古气候代用指标合集。它将为研究亚洲不同区域黄土-古土壤序列的形成时代、沉积过程与成因机制,以及重建晚第四纪不同时间尺度的亚洲气候变化空间分异提供坚实的数据支持,因此对于亚洲古气候变化研究具有重要意义。
Climate change across different regions of Asia is driven by distinct climate systems including the mid-latitude westerlies and low-latitude monsoons, exhibiting significant spatio-temporal heterogeneity. Widely distributed loess-paleosol sedimentary sequences across Asia provide critical sedimentary records for revealing the history of dust accumulation over different temporal scales in the past and the evolutionary dynamics of the westerly-monsoon climate system. Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating is the most widely applied method for loess chronology determination at present, while paleoclimate proxies serve as the key foundation for reconstructing the historical climate change records of loess deposits. This dataset is the Version 2.0 updated release of the "Asian Loess OSL Dating and Paleoclimate Proxy Dataset" originally published in 2023. The updated dataset integrates 1902 quartz OSL ages, 1378 K-feldspar ages and their associated calculation parameters from 148 loess-paleosol profiles spanning from northwestern Iran to northeastern China, and also includes high-resolution age-depth model data from 107 of these profiles. The paleoclimate proxy component compiles a total of 12521 grain size datasets, 17856 environmental magnetic parameter datasets, 2225 carbonate content datasets, and 3326 colorimetric datasets. To date, this is the most comprehensive compiled dataset of OSL dating results and paleoclimate proxies for the Asian loess region that has been publicly released. It will provide solid data support for studies on the formation ages, sedimentary processes and genetic mechanisms of loess-paleosol sequences across different regions of Asia, as well as for reconstructing the spatial differentiation of Asian climate change over different temporal scales during the Late Quaternary, thus holding great significance for research on Asian paleoclimate change.
