We aim to determine the cerium and oxygen charge state and their local symmetry in a dynamic equilibrium with a reducing atmosphere CeReO bulk samples of composition x=0.125, 0.250 (RE3+=Gd+) as a function of doping ratio. This is fundamental to comprehend the catalytic
and transport properties of CeREO materials in situ conditions. In fact, while it is accepted that RE3+ doping
progressively suppressesthe formation of additional vacancies (δ→0) on raising x, the catalytic properties of CeREO
systems strongly depends also on the dopant nature.
