The geometry has been simplified to improve user experience. These are polyline datasets identifying the river water bodies managed under the Water Framework Directive and any related programmes. This includes canals and surface water transfers which are reported as artificial rivers. These water bodies are represented by their centreline, and can be linked to other WFD data using the unique water body ID (WBID).
