A follow-up study on the influence of genetics and environment on adolescent depression

Process：The first measurement was in May 2021, measuring the independent variable (peer-student relationship and teacher-student relationship) with the baseline period dependent variable (adolescent depression), with uniformly trained psychology faculty and graduate students as the main testers, ensuring the cooperation of two main testers per class, using the same instructors and uniform time points, with classroom teachers on hand to assist with the survey. The first follow-up was in November 2021 to measure the mediating variable (frustration), and the questionnaire measurement process was the same as the first measurement. As this required genetic collection (oral epithelial cells), classroom teachers were entrusted to inform students before collection that each student should use water to rinse their mouth 30 min before collection, after which they should not eat or drink anything that would affect the purity of the sample. No less than 7 strictly trained primary subjects were assigned by class (about 50 students) during the collection process, which was about 30 min. Oral scrapers were sent back to a biotechnology company using ice packs immediately after the collection was completed, followed by DNA extraction and purification. The second follow-up was postponed to October 2022 due to the epidemic to measure the dependent variable (adolescent depression), and the measurement procedure was the same as before.Data basics: There were 525 data containing 100 underlying variables. ces-d was depression entry, fqq was peer relationship, tsr was teacher-student relationship, and others were demographic variables and genetic locus information respectively.Missing data: for missing data the mean replacement method was used.Data are sav data.
