Chemical sequence space study of the ShKT superfamily including novel sequences of Oulactis sp. nov.. ShKT sequences of Oulactis sp. nov

Sequences with similarity to those of the ShK-like protein superfamily were identified from the tentacle transcriptomes of the endemic Australian Sea anemone Oualctis sp. nov. These novel sequences were parsed into a study of ShKT superfamily sequences (Shk-like and the ShK-like to map the chemical space of these short, cysteine-rich (3 disulphide bonds) and highly divergent peptides.
