Triclocarban (TCC) is an antimicrobial compound found in personal care products, primarily bar soaps. We previously demonstrated that after oral exposure, TCC concentrates in and is transferred through the milk to suckling neonatal rats, potentially leading to alterations in the diversity of the gut microbiota. The objective of this study was to characterize the effect of lactational TCC exposure to gut microbial composition of neonatal rats.
