Reassembling Jesuitical-Guarani heritage. The debate in Argentina at the beginning of the 20th century

ABSTRACT The article proposes to characterize the heritage according to study programs from the anthropology and the archeology, in connection to new approaches from the history of art. Notions as the agency, the materiality and the ontology are important to try some answer before certain dilemmas of the heritage in Western modernity: the rescue and conservation of material rests, as a counterpoint to their destruction and wear. In this sense, it is necessary to set out if the consequences of these actions are due to the exclusive influence of the humans, or, in addition, to the interventions of no human agents, as well as material qualities and the environments. This paper deconstructs the mechanism of the movable heritage, which is feasible the move of fragments in diverse areas. Finally, it exposes a specific case from Argentina: the debate around the attempt of carrying during 1900 the portico from the San Ignacio Ruins (in the current Misiones Province) to a public parade of Buenos Aires.
