Tourist Survey, August 2013

The Tourist Survey, August 2013 addresses the summer tourism in Norway. The survey was conducted by Statistics Norway on behalf of Innovation Norway. The data are based on interviews with both Norwegian and foreign tourists. Business travelers are also part of the survey. Although the name of the survey reflects the survey to be completed in August, the data collection carried out in the period May to August 2013.
The study provides a basis for mapping the tourists' home countries, economic consumption, number of nights and accommodation in Norway.
The tourists total consumption for the survey period is estimated to 25 billion NOK. The German tourists make up, with a value of nearly 1 billion NOK, the largest single market for tourism in Norway.
